To be able to recognise different camera shots and explain why they are used
Steps:
- Read the Shot Types Info-sheet attached below.
- Watch the YouTube Video embedded on this page.
- Complete the worksheet - Film Shot Worksheet (forced copy link) after watching the YouTube video "The Strange Tale of One Shoe Jones - short film".
- Not all the shots are included in this short film. You might need to imagine when and how these shots are used. If you are unsure what the shot, have a look online.
Task Part II:
Create your own original film using the shots studied.
Steps:
- in small groups, assigned, decide on a very simple narrative (if you cannot come up with a story Mr.A can assign you one),
- storyboard (attached below) all the film shots you plan on using to communicate your narrative,
- understand that angles and film shots communicate meaning and emotion - be prepared to be asked "why did you select this shot?"
- Film Length: between 0:45 - 1:15
- Write-Ups: Storyboard (you cannot start filming unit you have completed your storyboard & a shot list - a running list of all your the shots used.
